TILLY

Post by mollie »

I’m sad to say that our Tilly has been diagnosed with cancer today. I know a few of you lovely people aren’t on Facebook, but some of you know Tilly. She had a scan this morning and the vet found a mass, which, although close to her kidneys, has not invaded them. It also runs alongside one of the arteries near her heart. She had a seizure last Wednesday, and as her blood tests came out normal, it’s possible that the source of the cancer may be in her brain. We have decided that as she is around 12 years old, we are not putting her through surgery or aggressive treatment (even though she is well insured) and have chosen the palliative route. We don’t feel that it would be fair to her, or beneficial. She is well in herself, and doing everything normal. As I write this, she is prancing around the front room playing.....hard to believe there’s anything wrong. We don’t know how long she will be with us, but we are determined to keep things as normal as we can, so that she can enjoy the happy home she has always known. This is the time we all dread, but if we had the the time over again with her that we’ve had, we wouldn’t think twice. ❤️❤️❤️ xxxx

Thank you for your kind words. Tilly is doing very well, almost to where you wouldn’t know that there was anything wrong.

Hopefully this will last for a while yet. Meanwhile, I have raided the local pet shop today and have a cupboard bursting with lovely treats.

Just catching up on here Marge - I am sorry to hear this news. I too would do what you are doing, it has to be right for Tilly. The good thing for dogs is they don't know so they live everyday to the full. Sending lots of healing thoughts and hugs.
