Most of you know that I lost my beloved Mick on 2nd February 2009, he was 15 years old.
I'd had a feeling for a couple of months previously that it wouldn't be that long before I lost him, so I wrote this poem, "through the eyes of a dog" to put down in words what I, as a spiritual person, would like to think that Rainbow Bridge is like.
I've just been going through some paperwork and come across it again and funnily enough, even though it has made me cry, it has also brought me a bit of comfort as well.
I thought I'd share it with you.
Jill
The Dream
The other day whilst sleeping
I had a lovely dream
I dreamt that I was peeping
Through a golden beam
As I looked in, all I could see
Were happy looking doggies
Some were smiling back at me
I even saw some moggies
I thought "I'd like to play in there"
And so I tried to enter
I tried and tried, looked everywhere
I looked left and right and centre
Then I saw a kindly man, who had a smiley face,
He stroked my head, then gently explained to me
Why I couldn't get into this lovely place,
Where all the dogs run free
He held my paw and rubbed my chin
And said "your time is not yet here"
"All these dogs that are within
Came through without a fear"
All their aches and pains have gone
They need no medication
In this place, they can't go wrong
They have my dedication
Your dream was sent to let you know
What happens at the end,
That even though the tears will flow
You'll be happy still, my friend

Re: The Dream
Its lovely Jill....... I have added copyrite to it as its important to protect your poems, whilst people can often copy and send to freinds they should always add the Authors name unless the author is unknown.
