Thank you to Chris and Karen for helping us with Bess. Lets hope we can find out what is causing her allergic reaction soon. Those eyes look very sore. Bless her. :bighug:

Well we have a long list of treatment she needs at the vets, Glenys has very kindly agreed that Lab Rescue will fund this and I am very grateful.

She is coming on in ieaps and bounds and even in just a few days with a bit of treatment and love she is a different dog.

Her eye will need an operation but I have been putting drops in it for her and it looks so much better.

We have cut down on her steroids and so far her skin condition hasnt worsened so hopefully we can cut them further. I have bought her some food with no additives, colourings, wheat, dairy etc and this might help her too.

She will be booked in at the vets after our holidays to be spayed and have a small tumour removed from her face, she will also have her eye sorted out and a skin scrape

I have taken a lovely photo of her tonight but Chris will have to upload it tomorrow and I will try to get some of her on her walk with our Molly.

Such a lovely update Karen. You and Chris are so kind to take Bess on and are no doubt working wonders with this beautiful, deserving girl. The backing of Glenys and the rescue funding are helping to make it all possible. Group hugs everybody..

Good to hear that Bess is making steady progress, she must be feeling a lot more comfortable already and I bet the change of diet will help too.
Just a thought - you might try giving Piriton (the 4mg tablets, not the 12hr cover version), our vets recommended it for our old boy Max when his allergies & itches were at their worst and I'm sure it was helpful to him. Our vet advised 1-2 tablets, twice daily (we just gave one at breakfast and tea).

Good idea 12 paws, we will see how she goes on and the vet seems to think its a pollen / dust allergy so I may see what he thinks if she doesnt improve.
