Beloved Max

Post by Glenys »

I am so sad to have to say the lovely Max has gone to the rainbow bridge .

Max was adopted from us in September 2006 his Mum Katie J has been through some tough times those who know her will remember her in the police dog and agility displays at our Fun Days with her police dogs And of Course her dogs Max and Charlie, were all shocked when Katie was shot and injured in the line of duty some years ago and followed a long road to recovery and Max her special dog was as ever with her all the way through, sad times then happy times I think we all know the loss of a dog is heartbreaking , unbearable :cry3: so the recent loss of Max to the dreaded C was hard to bear .
Max had a fantastic life loved and cherished which we want for our dogs he loved agility which he was still doing at 11 years old .

I will lend to you a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and to mourn him when he is dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years
or maybe two or three
but will you, till I call him back
take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that he will stay,
since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true
And from the folk that crowd life's land
I have chosen you.
now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labour vain
Nor hate me when I come to take my pup back home again
And should I call him back
much sooner than you've planned
Please brave the bitter grief that comes
and try to understand

I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord, Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this pup will bring,
the risk of grief We’ll run.
we will shelter him with tenderness
And love him while we may
And for the happiness we will know
forever grateful stay
When Our much loved dog Leaves this world of strife
We will get another dog And love him all his life

Rest well at the Bridge Max, now free from pain.
Sincerest sympathy to Katie. May the pain you feel be tempered with fond memories.

So very sorry to read about the loss of beloved Max. I can only imagine how Katie feels.

I remember those displays and enjoyed them immensely, Molly never used to blink either.

Run free at the Bridge dear Max, you will be welcomed with open paws and well looked after. Say woof to all our beloved furbabies that are already there. x x x
