Buddie Jackson

Post by Glenys »

Posting For Lynne we are all so sad to hear of the loss of Buddie we all enjoyed reading of his adventures on here and lovely photos.
Such a fantastic lovable dog xxx
:cry3:

FB Friday the 16th November.
Buddie
It is with a broken heart that I have to tell you that Buddie Jackson passed away in my arms at 12.20 on Friday In fact, broken-hearted doesn’t even come close to how my husband David and I are feeling at the moment. Buddie was sick on Monday, but seemed better when I gave him some chicken and rice and rallied round to almost completely normal again by Wednesday.

However last night again, he was unwell and so I took him to the vets. He was admitted immediately and put on a drip. They discovered that he had a mass inside his tummy and that the mass had started to spread elsewhere. We were advised that prolonging his life would not be in his best interests. He passed on to Rainbow Bridge being cuddled and loved right to the end. Thankfully, it was a peaceful passing.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that I visited LRNW and a little puppy pushed his way to the front of his brothers and sisters, looked me in the eye and told me to take him home with me. And, from that little puppy he grew into the most handsome dog. At his first LRNW fun day he won best rescue dog and went on to win a portrait based on a photo I took of him on a beach wall in Llandulas. He had hundreds of adventures. He climbed up the Snowdon path; he visited Anglesey numerous times; he loved Conwy and Talacre. In fact he loved life, he loved us and he made many friends along the way.

He was calm, kind and took an enormous amount of abuse from our cat Tomos who sometimes pursued him to the point where we thought he would get a sharp telling off. But Buddie always forgave him and was always patient with him.

He has left a massive hole in our hearts today. We still can’t believe that he isn’t here. His last walk yesterday was nothing out of the ordinary - the last hundred yards was always the time when he took his lead from my hand, folded it neatly on the floor and put it in his mouth until we got back to the door. It had been the same for years.

I’m so thankful that we came to what was to be his last LRNW Fun Day where I was so proud that he passed his Bronze Award.

He was a dog in a million. I am so happy that our paths crossed and we were able to share the times we have had together.
Rest easy Spuddie Buddie. I hope that you soon meet up with your dear departed brother Benjie at Rainbow Bridge. in our eyes he was the best dog in the whole wide world.
