KENNY...

Post by kathryn »

Remember Kenny who came in with his brother, they were left at the house that the bailiffes came to? here is an email I got today from his new Mum...

Dear Kathryn,

I just thought I would let you know how Bailey (Kenny) is doing. Well, I
still think he’s a lovely chap and has settled well. He’s calm and very
good-natured. He is good on the lead and I can confidently open the
front or back door and know he won’t run off. It takes us just two
minutes to get up onto Kirk Fell and Kirkhead, just behind the house,
and he really enjoys going up there. There are no cattle up there at the
moment so he can go off the lead quite safely. We play hide and seek,
and he runs around off the lead to his hearts content, and he knows the
route back to the house so that when we come back down he just walks
behind me. He wasn’t very happy about getting into the car at first, but
I’m persevering and the car trip usually includes a walk up on the fells
further afield so it’s getting better.
He has had all his injections, been micro-chipped, and was castrated last Wednesday. He
wasn’t too happy about that, but seems to have now recovered his
spirits. Once the stitches are out we will be out on the fells again. I
hope all is well with his brother

Max had that effect on Polly! We had to start keeping Max on a lead at all times, :1962:

It's great news that both brothers found such great new homes.

Great news sounds like Kenny has settled very well with his new forever family - I didn't realise these dogs were left in the house, I thought they had been left in kennels, poor dogs.

Great news about Kenny :1954: I didn't realise the predicament the boys had been left in either. How fortunate that they ended up at MKF.

Great news. It is obvious that they must have been well trained and loved pets at one time. In view of what appears to be the circumstances the family must have been really down on there uppers to have left them. Thank goodness they have two loving homes again.

They were left in the house then when the bailiffes came they then had to take them to the kennels which they were in for over 6 weeks, now though they both have wonderful homes and that is what it is all about...

We are having a dog trainer come to our house on Thursday to assess us and the dogs and see if he can help us improve us all.

I love to see Mr L running around but just want better recall :1945:

Who are you using Karen? I had a trainer come to Bob on Friday and the results so far are very promising. Just wondering if we are using the same company! PM me if you would prefer.

Be prepared for some very strange behaviour by you and Chris in order to train the dogs.....

Hi we are using a man called Wayne Mitchell from Sunnyview Kennels Todmorden, they specialise in labrador and gun dog training so I am very hopeful.

I think he will see things that we just dont, he wants to see both me and Chris and both dogs at home and then we will go out for a walk, this will be our initial assessment and then he will recommend further training etc

It feels strange that we are to be watched and tauught, a bit daunting too

It's not the same company. I'm using Bark Busters.
Hope the training goes well.

Great to hear Kenny (Bailey) has settled well in his new home. He is obviously much loved just like his brother. :1951:
