An update on Guss!!!!
We brought Guss home just over 6 weeks ago and it is like he has always been part of our family. He has certainly filled a massive gap in our lives that was left when we lost our black Lab, Star, in November last year.
Everyone who meets Guss falls in love with him - he is so sociable, gentle, caring and intelligent. He enjoys 2 long walks to the woods and back during the day and a short walk before bed-time. He has made friends with all the dogs in our area, although his 2 "best friends" are Audley and Lily, 2 chocolate Labs who live down the road. He enjoys chasing a ball round our garden and playing "tug o war" with a toy pheasant we bought him.
We took him to the beach a couple of weeks ago and he had the time of his life, chasing a ball in and out of the waves! We are taking him to the Lake District in April and again in May - we can't wait to see him in action on the fells!
Guss gets on very well with our cat, Rio - Guss puts up with Rio's grumpy moods and I would say that they are firm friends - I caught them rubbing noses the other day!
Guss has made a huge difference to our lives and we can't thank you enough, especially Gina, for introducing us to our fabulous boy! We can't imagine life without him. Keep up the excellent work,
Love and best wishes, Caroline and David Mellor

Hi and welcome
Guss sounds like an absolute joy. So glad he's settled, happy and enjoying a great life with you. Looking forward to updates - and maybe some photos.

A warm welcome to the site from us Caroline and David.
You all seem to be enjoying life to the full. So glad Guss has helped to fill the huge gap left when you lost Star. Most of us on here know what that's like.
Thanks for giving Guss his forever home.
Looking forward to more updates, and piccys if you ever get the hang of it.

Re: An update on Guss!!!!
WOW! What lovely welcomes from you all!!! Thank you so much for your kind messages.
I promise to post pics as soon as I have chance to have a go with photo-bucket - people have been very kind and sent me personal emails complete with instructions!
We've been to Morecambe again today and Guss enjoyed a bracing paddle in the waves and a long run on the beach. Found a dog friendly cafe - always handy - and lots of people made a fuss of Guss (can't blame them!)
Thanks again for the lovely warm wishes - am hoping that tomorrow will be the day to conquer the photo posting!
Love and Best Wishes,

Hi Gill and Coco
Apologies for the delay - haven't been on the PC for a while!
The dog friendly cafe is at the end of the stone jetty (just beyond the Midland Hotel). The jetty is near the RNLI shop. Good choice of butties, light meals, cakes, coffees etc and everyone made a fuss of Guss. Tables outside for the better weather, too!
Hope you find it :0)
