Poorly Tarka

Post by Lisahoward123 »

Hi all poorly Tarka has been to the vets today she has a nasty case of gastroenteritis. I was up most of the night with her last night and probably tonight am hoping Archie doesn't catch it too tho the vets say this is a distinct possibility. For the first time in the 13 months we have had her tark refused a meal this morning so she must be really poorly   she's been on a 12 hour no food famine as per the vets advice and from tomorrow is allowed scrambled eggs chicken rice pasta or boiled potato bland foods. The eggs are handy as we have ten hens haha.

Please send out lovely girl some healing thoughts she is feeling very sorry for herself quiet on her bed and isn't moving round much bless her.

Love lisa Archie and poorly Tarka :3517:

Sorry to hear Tarka is so poorly, a lab that won't eat definitely feels very rough. Hope the bland diet does the trick for your lovely girl and that Archie doesn't pick it up as well.

Sending big hugs to Tarka and Archie and these are for you :love3: and I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.

Sending healing thoughts to Tarka I know how you feel having had Balee suffering from it for 6 months last year, the bug in his tummy just kept coming back. He now has an Actimel every night on his tea and loves it.

Poor little tarka, get well soon. No lab would ever choose to skip a meal unless feeling pretty poorly bless her. Hope she is bouncing around soon! X

Hi all thankyou for your healing thoughts Tarka is much better she's still on a light diet and antibiotics for a few. MOre days but hadn't been sick in a couple of days and hurrah Archie hadn't caught it . I think tark is susceptible to gastroenteritis as she caught it last April and gave it to Archie too. The thing is last time we had a new vet at our vets newly qualified I know everyone has to learn. But the very same problem and Tarka was much more poorly this time the bill last time was £555 this time £39 massive difference I just worried that if it was an elderly couple with no insurance that's a massive difference . Last time they sent for blood and stool samples unnecessarily as nothing showed up in the tests . This time just an examination an anti sickness injection and antibiotics we see the head vet now who's brilliant but not much faith in the others it was the same one who cut tarkas dew claws too short and left her bleeding all over the consultation room :2050: :2050: :2050: :2050: :2050:

Hi Lisa and Tarka
So pleased to see that Tarka is improving and Archie is ok, we send you positive thoughts though and hope she continues to do well.
I am sure that you remember Shelly and Polly had the same thing last year, it lasted rather a long time and with various tests cost several hundreds of pounds, but all we really want is them well again.
:bighug: : for both.

So pleased to read Tarka is on the mend. Huge difference in the bill from one year to the next. Thank goodness you are able to see the senior vet.

Having said that Rowley caused me a £300 bill last year when he was sick and they ran tests. Everything all right, caused by something he ate probably, never stops, nuts, grass, acorns, soil, sheep poo, rabbit poo, tractor wheel mud etc. Keep him on his lead mostly now to help keep him moving, or it wouldn't be a walk, just a slow crawl. Same thing since and I just got (different vet) sickness tablets or something and he was fine so much lower bill.
