Typically, Max has been a perfect gent since I posted this my message - but I will keep working on him!! I have been thinking about the past situations, and it does tend to be when I've got him on the lead, and I do tense up or mutter to myself when we see someone walking their dog towards us (because I don't know what Max will do rather than me being a miserable so-and-so!), so no doubt Max is picking up on my reactions.
As I said he's great with dogs in the woods - off lead... (although he's now discovered that muddy ponds are far more fun than coming back to me)!
