Kel

Kel ( whose name was changed) arrived in Rescue august 2013 he was a handful very unruly he was here over a month when he was taken for assessment for a drug detection dog initially on trial. I received this update below today and it just shows there is a happy ending for every dog sometimes the dogs are just born to work and enjoy their lives in a different way and clever very clever.
So what we often may think is a naughty dog as they are OTT and not a typical laid back lab inside is a good dog doing what he needs to do.

Kel has the best of both worlds family pet and working dog.

Well Done Kel :love5: and his owner / handler

Glenys

Just thought I would touch base with you and let you know what a superstar Kel has turned out to be!

Kel is now a fully trained detection dog, trained to passively scan around moving and static persons and stationary vehicle. He is currently trained on illegal substances that fall under the misuse of drugs act along with firearms and munitions. He now lives at my house and enjoys the attention from my daughter!

Thank you, and best wishes

Wonderful story. Lucky Kel, such a clever doggie :1951:
So refreshing to hear of a dog's abilities and energies being channelled so successfully. In the wrong hands, Kel could have ended up being shut in a crate :(
Well done Glenys, another perfect pairing :1972:

What a wonderful, uplifting update. I'm so glad his new owner/handler took the time to do that.

Lovely post and clever Kel :2379:

Reminds me of a neighbours lab who you rehomed for us a few years ago Glenys. Poor young dog was home alone a lot and kept getting into mischief. She went on to be a drugs dog for the prison service. Renamed Blue by them.

Thanks again for another job well done :love3:
