Rosie the chocolate Lab

Post by Juze66 »

So happy to report that Rosie has been settling really well into our family, including getting to know her new best friend/sister Dizzie. Her dark brown coat goes beautifully with Dizzie's shiny black.

I have to tell everyone that my 15 year old daughter still sleeps with a Labrador toy that she has had since she was 5, a cherished doggie called Rosie! What a fabulous coincidence! No joke!

They seem to love sharing everything and as soon as I work out how to upload my photos you will be able to see just what I mean. They certainly wear each other out racing around all day, but collapse fast asleep just in time for us all to enjoy X Factor in peace! Ah bliss.....

Thanks to Abi and all at the kennels for their amazing work. You are all ANGELS.

Love from

Hi again!

I cant believe that I have been trying to download and post my photos since this morning using photobucket! Its a good job I decided to have a very quiet day at home to help Rosie settle in to her new home.

My main issue was the size of my photos. Well here are a few photos to show you how well Rosie is settling in to her life with us and her new friend Dizzie. Gorgeous!

Love

Judith the pictures are lovely and well worth waiting for. :love2:

They look very settled together, how long have you had Rosie?
They look so much like my two, I have a smaller black female and adopted a choccy female in september who is a little larger. I hope your two bring you as much joy as our two do us.

All still pretty good here.

Rosie has settled in VERY quickly, and is right now rushing around the garden digging, chewing and generally discovering all the really good stuff that Dizzie has missed.

I have to explain that Dizzie is a much more laid back lab, some say lazy, and thats one of the reasons we looked for a second dog to keep Dizz active. Shes only 16 months, but retired at 12 months I'd say due to hip, elbow and skin problems.

And Rosie has certainly kept Dizzie on her toes since her arrival. I'm watching their play quite carefully and giving time out when I see Dizzie tire or limp, but so far its all been tail up! talking of which Rosie is on heat..... :2008:

I have a very good feeling about it all, and makes me feel happy knowing that we can give her a good home. 5 years ago when we were relocated from our home in Sydney, Australia we had to rehome our 5 year old black lab Zoe, luckily finding the perfect family through friends of friends, knowing nothing about breed rescue shelters. But it was a heartbreaking decision and I felt so sad for..... actually still do. :blue: Zoe lived outdoors and we had been told that it wasnt kind to put her through the journey plus quarantine on her return to Sydney. Plus not even knowing if dogs would be accepted where we were to be living.

Anyway the upshot of this epic tale was to explain why I am now so happy that we can return the favour by adopting Rosie!

There really are some very genuine reasons for needing to rehome and to adopt these gorgeous creatures.
