Our Pets

Whilst the children were growing up we aquired a menagerie as follows.
Poppy,Meggy and Benji.

Poppy is still with me (age 16+) the other 2 cats where rehomed when I came out of hospital and moved in with my lady friend Sandra who is now my wife.Benji went to my youngest daughter Vicky and Meggy(a pershion?? lady) went to a lady who has MS.Poppy and Benji are still alive and Kicking but I have lost contact with Meggy.
We also had two Dogs.

Jake & Beauty.
Beauty came from a rescue , she was found dumped in traffic and initially had seperation probs but soon settled with us.We put her in kennels when we went on holidayand she came back preggers. She produced a litter of six pups of which 5 where rehomed by the RSPCA and we kept Jake who could be described as the runt of the litter. He was the largest, gangly and most un coordinated pup I have ever seen. the kids thought noboby would want him so he stayed with us.When ever anyone knocked at the front door he used to race along the hallway which had a wooden floor but his brakes did not work and he was forever crash landing at the door.If he had a brain scan I dont think they would have found anything. The two dogs have gone to the bridge now.
Beauty passed away peacefully in her sleep curled up under the kitchen table at 19 years. But I had to have Jake PTS because he developed cancer of the stomach at 17 years. We could leave all 5 animals on their own and whilst there was minor disputes there was never any bloodshed.
As you are proberbly aware I have a Hearing dog Taffy now who lives with Poppy and Molly who is my wifes cat.
HAVE HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Lovely story and tribute to all your pets John. It is nice to look back with such fond memories too. Who did the wonderful drawings?
