She has calmed down nicely and has become a much more balanced little dog suprisingly in such a short space of time. I've been working on her recall and general manners - she's a quick learner when it comes to getting food rewards!
We have a 8 year old male black lab, Arran who she adores and seems to look up to (her only being a baby) which is great. On her first trip to the beach they both ran into the sea thrashing around and chasing eachother up and down the shoreline - she loves to retrieve but isn't quite as big and fast as Arran..yet!
She's been perfect in the house with regards to toliet training although she does pick up any socks, remotes, tea towels etc that are left around! The hoover and hairdryer seem to be things of great interest as well as strangers but we are working hard to desensitize her and socialise her with as many people and dogs as possible.
Although she is very energetic just before morning and afternoon walks, inbetween during the day she can be found fast asleep wedged within the sun ray coming through the living room window.
Overall, she is coming on brilliantly for a young dog in her third home in 10 months! Next stop will be the vets for a check up and arranging for her to be spayed.
We would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to adopt Poppy.
I'll post a video of her in the next few weeks when she's completely settled in so you can see her progress for yourselves!
Thanks again,
Hannah, Chris and Marie Brookfield :)
