Carol x.
He's been an absolute angel today Carol (oops as I speak he's decided to get happy with his bed blanket again!). Anyway up until now he's been an absolute angel. He didn't disturb us last night, had a mad ten minutes when I first got up this morning, had a short walk (tug-of-war) and then settled into a routine of following me wherever I went complete with chicken or ball. We've also had a few games of fetch which he is quite good at. While I was working he was curled up at my feet and just lifted his head a few times so that I could tickle his ears.
I think he's feeling at home as he barked when the postman delivered the post and when a particularly noisy person walked down the lane so he's obviously protecting his territory.
He was comical while I was printing out my work. He watched every piece of paper coming out of the machine with such a quizical look on his face.
He has the makings of a very well-mannered dog believe it or not. I wouldn't have believed it myself yesterday as he was like a tornado.
We've been for our first training walk session this afternoon which went very well and on the third circuit of our walk the lead was loose. I'll practice with him a few more times until he knows that it is me who is leading the walks, not him and then we can concentrate on his "vocal" habit. Meanwhile I'm avoiding things which may detract from getting the walking bit into his head.
He seems to be quite intelligent so I don't think we'll have too much trouble and I've pmd John to ask his advice too.
Hope you get fixed up with your new friend soon Simon.
