The first picture of Bob is a close up looking as though he was being well behaved in the car (he was far too excited to be well-behaved), another one in the car on the way home, then getting to grips with his new toy in the garden and finally trying his luck with his giant rawhide bone in the kitchen.
My poor daughter who was in the back of the car with Bob is black and blue.
I don't think Bob has been allowed to sit with his previous families as he wanders in then wanders out again, then back in, then back out again. I'm getting dizzy! I'm sure he'll be fine when he understands that he is staying here for good.
He has been occupied with his squeaky chicken all night. His tail hasn't stopped wagging and he has rolled over just long enough for two tummy tickles. Everything he does is at high speed (even the humping which has calmed down a bit now).
I can't begin to describe how happy Bob has made me and Malc already.
Thank you for posting the pictures Aileen.

He's been an absolute angel today Carol (oops as I speak he's decided to get happy with his bed blanket again!). Anyway up until now he's been an absolute angel. He didn't disturb us last night, had a mad ten minutes when I first got up this morning, had a short walk (tug-of-war) and then settled into a routine of following me wherever I went complete with chicken or ball. We've also had a few games of fetch which he is quite good at. While I was working he was curled up at my feet and just lifted his head a few times so that I could tickle his ears.
I think he's feeling at home as he barked when the postman delivered the post and when a particularly noisy person walked down the lane so he's obviously protecting his territory.
He was comical while I was printing out my work. He watched every piece of paper coming out of the machine with such a quizical look on his face.
He has the makings of a very well-mannered dog believe it or not. I wouldn't have believed it myself yesterday as he was like a tornado.
We've been for our first training walk session this afternoon which went very well and on the third circuit of our walk the lead was loose. I'll practice with him a few more times until he knows that it is me who is leading the walks, not him and then we can concentrate on his "vocal" habit. Meanwhile I'm avoiding things which may detract from getting the walking bit into his head.
He seems to be quite intelligent so I don't think we'll have too much trouble and I've pmd John to ask his advice too.
Hope you get fixed up with your new friend soon Simon.

Thank you for all your kind thoughts and good wishes everyone.
Bob is presently busy trying to find out which bit of the house he needs to be in to ensure that he knows what is going on wherever it is happening! So far he has stuck his nose in every cupboard that has been opened (andof course the fridge), he's been down to the cellar with me to do some washing, he's popped upstairs just to check it out and he's presently at the bottom of the stairs watching me but keeping an eye out for Malc who he knows is upstairs. He has even been into the hearth to get a close up view on how to light a coal fire and clean out the ash.
I was warned by Sam that Bob was very nosy!!!
I'll try not to bore you too much with his antics but you can imagine the difference between a very poorly and elderly Max and now BOB!!! He is keeping me busy but that's the way I like to be.
Jackie
