What wonderful pictures of your Bob Karen. He looks as though he was a character too. I can see why you miss him.
Our Bob hasn't yet done a bum tuck but he was doing the old chase the tail thing tonight and yes he caught it! Most of the time he seems quite sane!

Bob has been booked in for the "snip" and micro-chipping!
The receptionist was excited about meeting Bob too bless her. She wanted to know all about him so we were on the phone for ten minutes. I hope we didn't cause too much inconvenience to other people ringing in!

You're certainly not boring us with your tales of Bob. I felt really caught up in your excitement at going to collect him, it was like waiting for a baby to be born (if you know what I mean!!) I'm following your posts with real interest as my labs have come as young pups, my niece's rescue dogs came as 2 and 3 year olds and they fitted in beautifully and I did wonder if she was just lucky.

Bob sounds like a typical nosey youngster and I can't wait to hear your stories of what he gets up to. I'm sure you're going to have such fun together.

It is just like having a baby Joan (but without the pain), even down to people visiting to meet the new arrival. Bob has had new people visiting every day so far and today we are expecting three sets of visitors. the first of whom has been and gone. Bob greets everyone with such excitement and wagging of the tail. I honestly don't think I have seen a tail wag quite so much on any of my previous dogs, even the first whose tail I thought was battery operated!
I'm supposed to be working but not getting much done (don't tell anyone!).

Wish us luck folks. Ali and I are both the proud owners of very highly strung yellow labs and we are expecting mayhem! Will try to take photos if we aren't bowled over and flattened.

Well the visit from Ali and Max was fun! Mayhem as predicted.
At first the dogs were a little wary of each other, then they had to have a dominance contest which Max won so Bob was sticking to my leg for a short time, then they decided to play nicely together fetching toys and balls.
This is an edited version as all four of us are still recovering from the experience!
Bob says thank you Ali for his Alien which he is sleeping by at the moment and thank you too for his Rasks.
Needless to say we didn't manage to take pictures except for a couple of Ali making friends with Bob. I wish I had taken one of Ali sitting in Bob's bed to try to show him that it is in fact a bed and not a sex toy!
Ali was the second guest of the day who had done this. I think rather than diffusing a dog appeasement mist, the diffuser is having a strange effect on human visitors.

Sorry for the lack of posts, been a bit busy!!! One extra long post coming up, hope it's not too boring.
Bob is faultless in the house although he is a bit cheeky. Malc got off the sofa to make a drink and Bob decided that Malc's seat looked like the best in the house!
Next day he crept upstairs oh so quietly when Malc had just had a shower. A cold wet nose touched his leg (could have been worse!) and Malc jumped a mile.
He has made us smile sitting watching the smoke go up the chimney, watching "Big Cats" on tv with a rapt expression, watching paper coming out of the printer etc. He is obviously experiencing lots of things which he has not come across before.
He still wanders off to the kitchen in the evening from time to time but he is spending more time in the sitting room with us than he was and he loves the coal fire. He has at last stopped sticking his nose into every cupboard - I think the only one he finds interesting now is the one with his food in!
Yesterday we had eight children all under the age of 10 visit with their four parents (this is not an normal occurrence, the most we usually have visiting is three children!) and Bob grabbed his toy and sped round in circles trying to meet everyone with his tail going nineteen to the dozen but his speed frightened one or two of the smaller children so I had to put him into a different room. When I sneaked round to look through the window to make sure he was okay, he had gone to sleep on the sofa!
He is fine in the garden having a little wander and a run and then a game of fetch (or run off with) whatever toy happens to have come out with him. Training sessions in the garden have gone well too.
However on the lead he was not too good at first. On a harness we now have two lengthy walks/runs a day where he has learned to respond to "walk", "run", "stop", "have a sniff" and he has learned very quickly as he has only been with us since Wednesday but if there are people or dogs around he turns into a deaf, lead-pulling monster. We just need to tackle this now together with his lack of recall but in view of the progress we have made in less than a week, I'm sure it won't take long. He is being neutered in a couple of weeks so this may help too.
Overall he is an absolute delight and he has bonded to us and us to him very quickly.
We love him to bits!
