When he was 16-17 month old he was attacked by a rotweiller and hurt, he recovered quickly from his physical injuries but not mental. He is still great with people but can be very edgy with other dogs and at times has attacked them which after liasing with my vet led to him being muzzled when off his lead.
I have recently made some progress by starting to go out with my mam and sister who have both now got rescue dogs a dalmation and 2 springers and he seems to be getting that bit of trust back to the extent where I do remove his muzzle at times.
I don't want him to have to be muzzled for ever it's not fair on him as his temperament with people is so good, but they automatically get a little bit frightened when they seee a dog muzzled. He is a wonderful dog so loving yet quite protective of us all especially my son without being nasty.
I love this dog to bits and can't imagine not having him with us and even though he is not a rescue dog i'm glad I could talk about him on this site.
