I spoke too soon!

Post by jackiem »

Update on Bob
Okay, okay, we have a little backward step or two to report! (I must have been tempting fate!)
Yesterday morning's 6.30am walk had a few distractions in the form of 1 dog being walked, 1 cat and 1 horse and rider resulting in a bit of a set-back on the old lead-training front! Bob didn't pull but got very over-excited and ear-piercingly vocal! What are all those people doing up and about at that time in the morning!!!
Peace was restored when we went into the house and Bob put his comedy head back on. I told him to "sit" outside the doorway while I went to the loo so sit he did but with a very smooth sort of shuffly, hovery movement was right next to me without standing up and having moved about three feet! What could I say? He had stayed sitting so didn't deserve a telling off and in any case, I was too busy laughing and trying to avoid the cold wet nose on warm leg experience!
Next he went outside to check out the garden, wandered around outside the conservatory and then noticed the fan on the conservatory roof through the window which I had accidentally switched on whilst leaning against the wall in my exhausted state. He clearly thought it was going to attack me so jumped up to open the door and barked his head off at this strange twirling object which by now was slowing down and proving to be no threat! I need a video camera, I really do.
Glad to report that this morning's 6.15am walk (in a bid to avoid all the distractions!) passed by with Bob walking along side me like a show dog the whole way.

I was going to put a similar post as Betty Boo greeting me with a half chewed shoe this morning and guess whose shoe it was ! :D And there was me harping on to everybody not to leave shoes lying about because of Betty :D

Oh well good excuse for me to go shoe shopping !

I think once they start to be a little naughty it means they are comfortable enough that they think they won't be told off ! :D

It sounds to me as though your Betty and our Bob have similar ancestry Lucy! Enjoy shoe shopping.
Note to self...leave shoes out for Bob (then I can go shoe shopping too!)

Oscar does a bottom shuffle as well. He has to sit while we get his breakfast or tea, and then has to be told 'ok' before he can tuck in. More often than not he doesn't bother to stand up and get to his bowl, he just swivels round and tucks in!

I think he is happy Jackie, he's certainly not sulking or showing any signs of being unhappy. He's settled in to our routines and knows what to expect and when which I think has helped him to settle so quickly.

Me? I'm totally besotted with him. I love him to bits - he's just so full of character and he's really affectionate and Malc things he's "a great little fella" so Bob's won his heart too.
