Hi from Lucas

Post by autumndays »

Hi everyone,
My name is Lucas and I adopted my new Mum and Dad and brother, Skye, on Tuesday. Skye is a black Lab just like me but a lot younger (he's only 3).
We set off to my new home and I was so happy that I sang all the way! (Skye put his paws in his ears).
When we got there I had lots to explore - all round the garden first and then the house. Skye showed me all the toys in the basket but I'm not used to playing with toys yet but I'm sure I'll soon learn. He showed me all the cosy corners where I can snooze too.
Then it was time for tea!
I have a new bowl beside Skye's. The young whipper snapper wollops his food down whereas I like to take my time and crunch it but he's very good and waits for me to finish and walk away before he checks that I've eaten it all (which I always do).
At bedtime I didn't think that I was allowed to sleep upstairs but Mum said it really was allright so I relented, snuggled down in my basket and slept the whole night through. (I'd had a really exciting day).
Yesterday we all went out for our first long walk together and Skye showed me all the "hotspots" where I can read and send pee-mails and then introduced me to all his regular friends and we had a fantastic time. I had to prove to my new Mum and Dad that I'd come back when they called me (which of course I did) and then Dad said we'd learn a new game. He leaves me sat with Skye, walks away and leaves us and then plays a tune on a stick that he puts in his mouth. The object of the game is race Skye back to Dad. I won !!!!
In the afternoon we all went to see Miss Vet for my M.O.T. She said I was very fit for my age (cheeky thing) then did my vaccinations (didn't feel a thing), Chip (slight OUCH) and gave me some wormers (yeauk).
Had another great play on my walk this morning. Dad says I can put some pics on here when I've learnt how to do it.
Just before I go ...... loads and loads of love and licks to Aunty Glenys, Aunty Carol and all at MKF for looking after me while I was waiting for my forever home. I'll never forget your kindness.
More news soon,
Lots of love, Lucas.

Oh Lucas, it sounds as if you have well and truly landed on your paws ! :love2:

It sounds like you're settling in really well and don't worry, I'm sure you'll soon learn how to play with your toys - it's such fun once you learn. :1972: :2093:

Maybe your new mum and dad could put some photos on for us to see how you're getting on ?

Love

Lucas, it sounds like you have a wonderful new home, and a lovely new brother. Your Mum and Dad sound great too! My OH and I both had a good giggle at the pee-mails! Our dogs send lots to their pals.

We have a Skye, adopted from MKF last May, she nuts but absolutely fantastic, and trusty old Reuben who is 9 and a perfect gentleman.
