Pet insurance

Post by babsandrobin »

Hi ,thanks for good wishes for Robin-he's not out of the woods yet unfortunately.
Was just on phone sorting out Petplan insurance when I got a call from the hospital. Waiting for him to ring back so any suggestions re insurance while I wait-is £4000 ie the classic insurance ok for a lab.-our last dog was too old to be insured.

Same here for Molly. Scooby will be with More Than in September when his current insurance runs out.

One word of advice is, check that your vet is happy with the insurance you go with.

We have George insured with Morethan for £7000 he's 4 and it costs us £13.80 a month, don't know how that compares with Lin and Anne's costs. With Morethan if your dog gets an ongoing illness they do say they will continue with the cover in future years, obviously the monthly fee would go up, some companies can stop the cover when it comes up for renewal if a long term illness is diagnosed and then you wouldn't be able to get it covered by anyone else.

Millie is 4 sometime in May I don't know what date unfortunately, her renewal premium was £172.92 this year so works out at £14.41/month

Morethan like all dog insurances go up each year as the dog gets older. Good thing ours don't

My youngsters are with John Lewis lifetime cover(formerly marketed as Greenbee). They are insured for £10,000 vets fees per annum which refreshes each year, costs £18ish per month and does include some alternative therapies, dietry stuff etc.
