The Cyprus two a Good update

Here is an update I am saying yes lets get her ( Tamsin) in private boarding not sure of the risk with the other re parvo etc.. .....

Hi.

Well the small lab pup Reggie,is still at the vets having treatment for parvo, they think he will,be ok. However, they will not start his vaccinations until he has been clear of the parvo virus for at least a month, so I don't know when he will be able to fly.

The bigger sad faced dog who they have called Tasmin, has been tested for parvo and leshmanias ( sand fly ) and is clear on both counts. I have called in at a diferent vets today and have got some prices.

The passport which is made up as follows

Rabbies. 35
Micro chip. 35
1st vaccination 20
2nd vaccination 20
Passport book. 10
Frontline and worming prior to flying 20
Total 140 euro

If they were to board it they normally charge 12 euro per day but will accept 8 euro a day as it's a pound dog.

When I checked with the lady who runs the volunteer fundraising side of things she says the pot is empty, we need to do more fund raising quickly, the fear is of labouring the point and people getting fed up with us! But we are trying. So I will pay for the passport myself to get her out of there, but I cannot stretch to the boarding, we are struggling to get puppies into a foster home so there would be very little hope of Tasmin getting fostered. She is coming out of herself at the pound, she has made friends with a boxer male, he don't like other male dogs at all. They get on well together, she is not in a cage like the rest but has the run of the pound with the boxer so has more room.

Every day volunteers go and fed, clean and when possible walk the dogs, as it's getting warmer it has to be earlier and as most work here is seasonal we are all getting busy with work, I go mon and thurs and cook pasta for them and mix with dog meat as a treat.

I need to measure Tasmin tomorrow to find out what size box she would need and phone the flight woman again. When she starts her vaccinations she can fly between 3 -4 weeks after depending on flight availability. The flight woman co ordinates group bookings so the price is cheaper 300/350, if she was to fly single the it's much more expensive, not at all straight forward, but then is anything.

I have seen the wonderful response you have had re these dogs the generosity is great. Cause wages here are so so low it's hard to get people to part with money, the other half live on pensions and have to be careful with what they spend, but it's the same old same old eh!

Let me know what you think and whether you want to proceed with getting Tasmin out, I will take another pic of her tomorrow when I go.

Ive replied saying get her out of the pound and we can fund the vaccinations and flight etc.. so thank you to those people who have sent money it really is kind more news soon xxx

You did right saying yes - do you need more fundraising for these ones? It sounds awful for the poor things over there but the vaccines and passport are very cheap compared to here.

she will be in private boarding soon waiting to come to a happy life

Update from Kareen...

Hi had this reply and the flight might be a bit cheaper which is good news but still awaiting other people yet.

The boarding kennels which is a lot better is cheaper than the one I quoted you,,she charges 5 euros for the pound dogs per day so again great news and she spends time with them, lovely lady.

Any more news I will let you know.

K x

Oh, that little video.. isn't Tamsin adorable :love2: :love2: :love2:
She obviously has the sweetest temperament, a little shy perhaps but without nervousness, which is just so endearing. I suspect you will be inundated with offers for this little beauty Glenys :1944:

Two posts in a row! Meant to add that we had William, a Lab/Golden X years ago. He was absolutely gorgeous, best of both breeds so I can assure anyone that it's a great breed mix :1972:
