Doggy dandruff

Has anyone else experienced this? Barney and Lola seem to have developed bad dandruff over the last two weeks. Their skin underneath looks just as healthy and no itching, so I gave them both a bath in an oatmeal dog shampoo, this is only the second bath they have ever had, they normally just get hosed off if muddy.
They are furminated once a week and brushed with a bristle brush once a day, that are fed on royal Canin neutered vet prescription dry food and have been on this routine since I've had them.
This week I've added a tin off sardines in oil to each of their evening meals to see if this helps? Wondered if it was anything to do with the heating being on a fair bit?
Was wondering if to change to Arden grange dry food the salmon and rice one thinking the high fish oil content would help?
The pair of them just look as if they've been sprinkled with talc. :1001:
If anyone else has experienced this and successfully cleared it up I would be grateful for any advice.

I have had this with my 1st and always No.1 Lab, Chocy Pluto. I worried about it for a while also but never asked the vet, although he presumably would have gone to the vet at some stage while he had it. I always worried that the vet was going to say he had fleas. It disappeared after a some time, don't know how long but it was a while I think and I've just forgotten about it until you did your post about it. I don't bath my dogs that often either.

I wouldn't worry too much if they haven't had it very long as you say heating and change of weather outside can affect skin so they could just be adjusting. If it continues could be another cause, usually nothing to worry about though, Maggie has had bad dandruff for months this year worst I have known, she is getting on a bit now and she has always had skin problems, what helped her was hemp seed oil, fantastic stuff she gets a couple of tablespoons a day and her coat and skin are now perfect.

Poppy has a short shiny coat whereas Parker has a rough coat and feels like he is always casting
He doesn't get dandruff as such but can get a bit dusty looking
I wash him with malaseb shampoo which seems to help
They both get a raw egg each week which I think does help with condition of their coats but they do get a bit windy that night!
