There's an Angel at the gate
I thought I heard him say
A Geordie lass with the saddest eyes
Who's friendly and gentle
Obedient and wise.
Twelve months have passed since our
happy soul left this life
Now at the bridge free from pain and strife
Many tears were shed and then some more
An empty bowl an empty bed
A lonely lead on the chair instead
Then came a whisper from a disance, it's true
There's an Angel on her way
and I'm sending her for you.
At Christmas let's raise a glass
say three cheers and thank you
To Glenys and her team
for all the hard work they do
To four legged friends passed and new
And for Angels at the happy gate
who wait patiently for you.
