Update on Sam (Still with owner in the North East-30/08/08)

Post by BEST 1 »

Hi Everybody :occasion7:

It is about time I give you update on Sam. It's long overdue I know ... anyway here it is.
Sam featured on the Website on 30/08/08 as "Sam still with owner in the NORTH EAST". He was just 14.5 mths old and reluctantly being given for adoption due to arrival of a new baby. At the time, I was browsing the Site after recently losing my beloved Buster. He was also adopted from MKF in April 01 and was my baby for over 7 yrs. His departure left me absolutely heart broken and the house so empty. Overcoming the emotional turmoil, I then noticed Sam and something inside me was pulling my heart. After further enquries, I've decided to travel to Newcastle to bring him home rather then waiting for him to arrive at the kennels. I thought it would spare him some distress. Despite 4.5 hrs journey back home he travelled very well. He also settled in fantastically - no disturbed nights, no chewing, no scratching, no crying and no aggression. After a few days I registered him with my Vet and taken pet insurance for him as I felt deep down that he was here to stay. He was rather timid and picky with food but that is all in the past. He is a proper Lab now as far as food is concerned. His only "not so good points" are pulling on the lead and recall. He goes mad when he sees another dog, regardless whether he is on or off the lead.
I think it is due to lack of basic training and adequate socialisation when he was younger. However, these issues are being addressed and there is about 85% improvement already. We attend dog training classes every week and even passed the Bronze Test of The Kennel Club Good Citizen God Scheme after just couple of months. He also been neutered and had his retained testicle removed to avoid potential problems in the future.
Overall I can honestly say that Sam is good with people and absolutely fatastic with children and loves other dogs. He brings me so much happiness. I love him to bits. He is a wonderful companion - my little GEM.

Big THANK YOU to the Rescue for giving me the opportunity to acquire such a wonderful friend.

(I will try to put some pictures of him but pls be patient - I am a novice to the photobucket)

Thank you so much for your replies. Yest he is lovely (well I certainly think so) He is a little sweetie and still a big baby.

I will post some more photos of him in the near future, now I've managed to get it working.

Would anybody be able to advise me what to do to see the pictures without needing to click on the photobucket link ? I have noticed that some people's photos just appear in the body of the message.

Cheers.

I think you maybe clicking on the wrong thing. At the bottom of the photos in your Photobucket are four options.

Hover the "hand" over your photo
Scroll down and you will see the hand changes to an arrow
The last one in the list (IMG code) is the one you want
Left click on it and it will go blue
tThen right click on the blue and some optuions will appear
Click on copy
Then go back to your post
Press ctrl key followed by V key

...et voila.....

however, your pics are at the present time too big to post.

To rectify this click on edit at the top left of your photo and follow the instructions on the edit scree.

Hope this helps. :1945:

Oh dear lots of typos in that! :2019: :2019:

Forgot to add that you will have to resize by clicking on edit (above your photo)
then follow the instructions once your photo has loaded into the edit screen.

Click on the "Resize" button at the top of the screen which will take you to two little boxes with numbers and two sliders next to them. As long as the numbers are below 600 they are fine. So just play about with that for a bit. Click onto the "apply" button

Then at the bottom of the screen click on "Replace original" in the blue box and it will save.

It then goes back to your PBucket and you follow the instructions in my last post.

Phew! :bounce:

Benjiesmum - Many thanks for your advice.
It is rather a lot to take in but I will play about - as the saying goes - "practice makes perfect ....."

Cheers
