This morning she woke up at 6.30 to the sound of the phone beeping downstairs which meant that the supply was off again. Having established that it was just her house which was affected, she went round switching things off with a view to ringing the electrician again later this morning.
Then she spotted that Pip the cat had peed near to her litter tray rather than in it so she fetched tissues and disinfectant to clean up. She then discovered that Pip hadn't just peed, but sprayed up the wall too - straight into the socket which had shorted the electrics. My daughter is thanking her lucky stars that she spotted the problem before she called the electrician who shall we say, isn't the happiest of chaps at the best of times.
My daughter heard another cat come through the cat flap during the night so presumably Pip was re-establishing her territory as she isn't normally prone to peeing up the wall!
Glad I've got a dog not a cat!
