Bill , Carol and Bob walking past a shop and they see a second hand tv for sale. They go in and ask how much is it? The young man behind the counter says £30.00. So they each give him Ten Pounds and walk out with the tv. As they are walking out with the T.V. the owner walks in and says to the young man well done I see you have sold the T.V, How much did you sell it for? The young man answers £30.00. The owner says to the young man It should have only been £25.00 and gives the young man Five one pound coins out of the till and tells him to run after them and give them the change. Now not being as honest as the Owner the young man puts two pound coins in his pocket, runs after them and says sorry you where overcharged and gives each of them a pound.

Carol paid £10.00 and got a pound change so she paid £9.00
Bob paid £10.00 and got a pound change so he paid £9.00
Bill paid £10.00 and got a pound change so he paid £9.00

You are just trying to confuse us!

3 x 9 = 27 - 2 = £25 which is the amount paid for the tv
Bob,Bill & Carol have £1 each and the dishonest chappie £2 = £5
5 + 25 = £30

My head aches now!!
