well it looks a healthy ear even if its closed. So does that mean no more infections?

Yes Rowena, the entire ear canal has been removed right down to his middle ear including the burst ear drum so there is nothing there to get infected, so no more infection, no more pain, no wonder he is looking happier than he has in two years bless him.
