Bracken from Ireland

I thought as we are in puppy mood I wou re tell this story some of you will know it already.
A few years ago we were aksed to take a labrador from Ireland we were told that she was pregnant it was difficult to get the trasnporter to agrre to bring her but he did.
Bearing in mind that the travelling cages in the transporters are small we were shocked when she was lifted out she was pear shaped I said to Sam this is going to happen very soon.
We had appealed for a foster home and someone was ready to set out to come but when I got back to her kennel there was a baby pup arrived and another coming.
Sam sprung into action and in just over an hour he had made a most impressive box for whelping I had cleared out the utility room and the box installed she had ten puppies as I recall ....all by herself no human intervention just kindness she had done this before.
Bracken was a good Mum and the puppies thrived in amongst all the ones that were black was a big bruiser of a yellow boy we called him Big Dougie..
All Pups went to great homes and Bracken found a wonderful home but it could all have been so different in Ireland.
I often laugh at the whelping box challenge Tommy Walsh episode for Sam for he had kept the wood from a very good old wardrobe
and we placed a play pen round it to keep them safe.
