Well, where do I start? We collected our little choccy girl "Bailey" from Carol's yesterday afternoon. It's a 3 hour journey from Carol's to our house in Co Durham, so I thought this might be a bit of an arduous journey for a 7 week old, & was prepared for the possibility of some mess in the car. However, initially I sat Bailey on my knee. She was quite curious & kept rummaging around & trying to climb onto the driver's knee.

Because of this I made a camp in the footwell & wraped her up, & she slept all the way to Co Durham - no mess what so ever.

Once home she went to the toilet in the garden, the had a thorough exploration of the house. Needless to say the whole family are besotted with her, & she seems quite keen on us, she keeps crawling onto one of us or lying on a spare foot when she wants to take a nap. Last night, however, she crawled into the crate we had set up for her, lay on her new bed, & slept until 5.45am. I thought this was really good, as I was expecting lots of crying when she was left alone for the night, & thought she might end up in my bed.
She hadn't made any mess, & performed brilliantly when I let her in the garden. She's had 2 or 3 wee's in the house, but I think she's doing great. We've taken loads of photos which I'll post soon. She's a little girl with a huge character. She's very inquisitive & will chew anything (she is a lab) so we have to watch her constantly

. She even climbed 4 stairs this morning (under close supervision by myself) but of course couldn't get back down, so I think a stair gate will be required until she masters the stairs.
A big thankyou th Carol & everyone else at the rescue for our little marvel.
